He can't even get vending machine water for himself, and then yells at her for taking too long to get it? He makes all sorts of rude comments, and does not show any inkling of valuing her. The plot basically is, that this woman does everything for Aiden, from preparing his meals to washing his sheets and laundry to keeping track of his schedule, and he barely even says hi to her. This book is about a famous American football player from Dallas, Aiden, and his personal assistant, Vanessa, whom he takes for granted. Instead, "slow burn" for this book means that the heroine and hero barely interact for the first 60% of the book- they don't even so much as brush knees. I expect a slow build-up that reaches a climax that results in the characters having to deal with their feelings. When something is advertised as a "slow burn" I expect a lot of teasing, banter, tons of sexual tension, pining, etc. I am so sorry if you love this book but I will be ripping into it, no hard feelings <3
